Not Even CNN Believes Biden Excuse For Not Wearing a Mask
Joe Biden did not have any good reasons for hugging and shaking hands at strangers during Thursday’s event in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley.
“How long do you think people might have to wear masks again?” a reporter asked. Watch his response:
“Well, if you notice a lot of places people don’t have to wear masks,” Biden claimed. “Let’s get that straight.”
“The places where people have gotten vaccinated, where we have a high vaccination rate, people do not have to wear masks at all,” he went on. “Like some of you who were with me yesterday when I was up in Lehigh Valley, didn’t have to wear masks there.”
“Don’t have to mask if you come home to Delaware with me,” he added. “I know you love doing that. You don’t have to wear a mask.”
“The places people are probably going to have to wear masks in those communities where the high rate of unvaccinated stays high, and they don’t move,” he said. “They don’t move to getting vaccinated, but I think you’re going to find the patience of businesses and the patience of a lot of other people running thin because the fact is if you had high vaccination rates, we wouldn’t be in this spot right now.”
Biden’s claims don’t match reality, however. Biden was seen hugging and shaking hands with strangers in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Even CNN called Biden out for his “malarky” on what the guidance says.
Biden suggested that in New Castle, Delaware where he lives, the vaccine rates are high, so he didn’t need to wear a mask. Jake Tapper questioned if that was true.
“That’s not the case,” Kaitlan Collins replied. “The reason he did not have to wear a mask when he went there the other day is because they had a moderate level of transmission, not substantial or high. Which are the two levels. I don’t think most people know which area they live in. It changes as they update the guidance. It raises a lot of questions.”
“There at the end you saw the president grow quite animated,” she continued. “He was asked about what he did say not that long ago, if you have been vaccinated, you don’t have to wear a mask. He was saying what we’ve heard from a lot of health officials, which is they are working on a rolling basis with changing science and data and evidence here, and clearly the level of concern is real about the Delta variant. He said cases are going to go up. We have not heard that from him in a long time.”
CNN may try to make it seem like Biden is following the CDC’s new guidelines. Biden broke both the social distancing and mask protocols for indoor events. The CDC’s updated guidance has been used by the Capitol Physician and Speaker of the House to restore mask mandates for vaccinated persons.
The President of the United States should be a leader. His health should be considered one of his top priorities. Why should the American people care if the president doesn’t take the virus threat seriously?
