More Republicans Join Calls for Impeaching Biden After Kabul Massacre

In the aftermath of the deadly attack on U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan and civilians in Kabul, calls to impeach President Joe Biden have grown in strength.

Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., cosponsored articles of impeachment against Biden due to an alleged “foreign policy failure” in Afghanistan, according to Fox News.

Duncan signed onto the articles of impeachment filed by freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) last week.

In a statement, the South Carolina lawmaker stated that he felt it was time to get rid of Biden after his “gross negligence” which led to the Taliban taking over Afghanistan. This then “resulted into a grave humanitarian emergency.”

“It is time to take action and remove the sitting President from office due to his gross negligence that undermined our national security, led to the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, and resulted in a grave humanitarian crisis,” Duncan said in a statement he posted to Twitter.

“I am heartsick at the President’s failure to fulfill his duty that has resulted in American deaths and thousands of Americans and Afghan allies being abandoned at the risk of being tortured, captured, held hostage, or killed at the hands of the Taliban or other terrorist forces,” stated Duncan.

“Our Commander-in-Chief showed reckless disregard for both American citizens and allies in neglecting to secure their safe evacuation from Afghanistan once he withdrew our troops,” he also added.

“The President promised to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, but it is evident the President has failed to fulfill this charge,” Duncan stated.

“Impeachment is a very serious matter, and one I do not take lightly. It saddens me that it has come to this, but the President’s actions have proved he is a threat to our national security and the Constitution,” the South Carolina Republican added.

“President Biden has been derelict in his duties and neglected the responsibility the office of the president requires.”

Duncan said, “It is time to take action and remove the sitting President from office due to his gross negligence that undermined our national security, led to the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, and resulted in a grave humanitarian crisis.”

Taylor Greene took to Twitter to thank Duncan for his support.

“Thank you @RepJeffDuncan for cosponsoring my articles of impeachment against Joe Biden related to Afghanistan,” she stated.

“It’s time for Congress to hold this administration accountable. Joe Biden must be impeached. Immediately,” she stated.

In the immediate aftermath of the attack, several other Republicans called on Biden to simply step down, as well as Vice President Kamala Harris and members of Biden’s Cabinet.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, however, demanded that Biden, Harris, and several Cabinet members resign as well.

“Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Antony Blinken, Lloyd Austin and General Milley should all resign or face impeachment and removal from office,” she said.

“If President Trump can be impeached over a phone call, then the time has come to IMPEACH Biden for gross negligence in Afghanistan. Americans deserve better. We deserve better than someone who willfully IGNORES the WORST crisis in decades,” Rep. Ronnie Jackson of Texas, the former White House physician, added.
