Biden On 2024: I’m “Not Prepared To Announce” Campaign

President Joe Biden told members of the media earlier this week that he definitely has intentions to compete for re-election in 2024, despite the fact that he has not yet submitted the necessary paperwork.

During the traditional Easter egg roll at the White House on Monday, the president taped an appearance for the NBC program “Today” with host Al Roker. In a clear hint as to whether he intended to run for office again, the reporter questioned Biden directly if he had any plans to host any other events in the future.

To which the President replied, “I plan on at least three or four more Easter egg rolls. Maybe five. Maybe six, what the hell? I don’t know.”

A follow up question by Roker, “Are you saying that you would be taking part in our upcoming election in 2024? Help a brother out, make some news for me.”

President Biden responded, “I plan on running, Al, but we’re not prepared to announce it yet.”

Since Biden has been adamant that he plans to seek for re-election in 2024, this isn’t really anything new. When Biden would formally announce it and submit his paperwork has changed over time.

Initially, it was anticipated that Biden would make the declaration shortly after delivering his yearly State of the Union address in February. But when that didn’t occur, rumors from the White House that an official announcement would be made in the spring began to circulate.

Naturally, spring has arrived, and while there are still two whole months left in the year, it seems increasingly likely that the president will postpone making an official declaration.

According to numerous recent rumors, Biden may decide to wait until later in the summer to officially file paperwork to run for reelection. He’s not in a big hurry to file since he would be the overwhelming favorite to win the Democratic nominee again.

According to his inside sources, delaying the announcement would enable him to concentrate more on managing the nation so that he could advance the country’s liberal agenda. Given that a large portion of the nation has not supported the agenda he and his administration have promoted during his first two years in office, that might be rather significant for him.

Additionally, only one other Democrat has formally filed to oppose a prospective Biden reelection attempt up to this point. Marianne Williamson, a writer who also campaigned for office in 2020, is that person. She isn’t viewed as a serious threat to Biden, though.

In addition to the general lack of public support for him, Biden’s age has been a major source of worry. When his second term officially began, he would be 82 years old.
