Liberals In Full Meltdown After Florida Gov Signs Parental Rights Bill

On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) signed HB 1557, often known as the Parental Rights in Education bill, into law, provoking outrage on social media among liberals and progressives.

Much of the criticism originates from the fact that the bill is incorrectly referred to as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, causing many to believe that the word “gay” cannot be used in schools. The measure actually says that teachers are not supposed to be teaching about sexual orientation and gender identity to children under the age of three. The term “gay” does not exist in the bill at all.

“If the same Hollywood elites who upheld degenerates like Harvey Weinstein now oppose our efforts to protect parental rights, I wear that like a badge of honor,” said DeSantis before signing the said bill.

Many on the left, from activists to legislators, expressed their displeasure with DeSantis’ signing of the bill, frequently reiterating the disproved “Don’t Say Gay” rallying cry.

“#DontSayGay is an attack on children, families, and our universal values of human dignity and respect. New York State is proud of its LGBTQ+ community and I will continue to ensure New Yorkers will never be forced to hide who they are. Love will always be stronger than hate,” said Gov. Kathy Hochul in a tweet.

The Walt Disney Company, which has a big presence in Florida, also issued a statement claiming that the bill should never have been signed into law and that they will fight to have it repealed or overturned in court.
