Hillary Gets Wrecked in Ridiculous Tweet about NASA

This is an oldie but a goodie that is simply too fantastic to pass up. In September of 2017, Hillary decided to take a stand for gender equality by tweeting that NASA would not let her be an astronaut because she was a woman.

“When I was a little girl, I wrote to NASA and told them I dreamed of being an astronaut.

They wrote back and said they weren’t taking girls.

A new generation of little girls watched today’s historic spacewalk. May their dreams of reaching the stars have no bounds.”

In her post-election loss tell-all book, “What Happened,” she made a similar assertion. “Like in 8th grade, when I wrote to NASA to say that I dreamt of becoming an astronaut and someone there wrote back: Sorry, little girl, we don’t accept women into the space program.”

The difference between the tweet and the tale in the book is that she indicated she was a “small child” when she penned the letter on Twitter. She stated in the book that she was in eighth grade. Eighth graders are usually between the ages of 13 and 14, thus that interpretation corresponds to the one she gave in the speech.

Clinton penned the letter in the early 1960s. The first female astronaut applicants were not accepted into the program until 1978.

The letter, according to a NASA spokesman, reflects the culture of the early 1960s, when astronauts were needed to be military test pilots. We believe that today’s NASA values racial and gender diversity as a reflection of America’s values.

However, someone pointed out on Twitter that Hillary was born in 1947 and cited that NASA was formed in 1958. In saying that, there was not a space program yet for astronauts until 1962, which will make Hillary 15 years old.  The tweet further pointed out that she did not write NASA when she was a little girl like what she claims.
