US Judge Restrains United From Placing Vax-Exempt Workers on Unpaid Leave
On Tuesday, a U.S. judge in Texas temporarily prohibited United Airlines from placing employees on unpaid leave who have received religious exemptions from the company to receive COVID-19 vaccines. This was until Oct. 26.
Temporarily, the Judge also restraining the airline from refusing any late requests for religious and medical accommodation.
Although vaccine mandates are seen as essential to end the almost two-year-old pandemic in the United States, their supporters see them as necessary. However, critics call them unconstitutional or authoritarian. Some people object to mandates based on religious grounds.
